A Review of Cameras for Scuba diving

Canon Powershot S70 and Underwater Casing WPDC40

Scuba Diving Equipment src="http://ScubaDiving.powerfulintentions.com/photos/593/6802.jpg"/> I’m starting my Underwater Camera Review with The Canon Powershot S70 because it was
recommended to me by a Scuba Diver.

The Canon Powershot S70 is a 7.1 megapixel digital camera
with a 3.6x Optical Zoom lens, and has an Optional
Underwater Casing WPDC40, which can be used in 132 foot
(40 metres) depth. As you’ll see from the reviews, the
camera is popular for Scuba Diving and for out of the water

Scuba Diving Equipment SeaLife DC500

Underwater Cameras src="http://ScubaDiving.powerfulintentions.com/photos/593/6943.jpg"/>

The new SeaLife DC500 features a new “Shark Mode” for faster and
sharper pictures of moving objects underwater and in sports photography on land.

The Shark Mode is activated by simply pushing the camera’s OK button which focuses on the intended subject. The camera will now remember that focus range and take sharp pictures with virtually no shutter lag. Underwater, in diving or snorkeling, everything moves, the diver as well as sea creatures are in constant movement. In addition to the Shark Mode, the automatic Sea exposure mode will shorten the exposure time underwater for sharper pictures.

Sea and Sea DX8000G housing and 8000G Digital Underwater Camera

Scuba Diving Equipment src="http://ScubaDiving.powerfulintentions.com/photos/593/6977.jpg"/>

The 8000G improves on its predecessor, the 5000G, in three significant ways:

1. Shutter release intervals remain steady until the memory is full.

Continuous image capture has a shutter lag time of only 1.7 seconds between images.
No more delays while the camera flashes gWritingh and freezes the shutter
release button until itfs finished.
Video capture is also continuous until memory is full.

2.
Imaging quality is greatly improved. SEA&SEA analyzed why conventional digital
cameras so often capture poor images, and wefve used the results to overhaul
autoexposure and other elements that affect image quality. Wefve paid special
attention to autofocus quality in macro mode to provide much better focus for
close-up subjects.

3. The camera now supports the USB2.0 standard.
