“The FinePix F810 offers 6.3 million effective pixels and can capture up to 4048 x 3040 recorded pixels (12.3 million) in standard mode or 3968 x 2232 recorded pixels (8.9 million) in widescreen mode using Fujifilm’s proprietary Super CCD HR (High Resolution) sensor system. The sensor offers expanded sensitivity, from ISO 80 for superb image quality to ISO 200 and 400 for high performance and ultra-high ISO 800 (at 3MP mode or less) for low light or fast action photography.

This unique image sensor is powered by a new image processor,

Can be used underwater with the Fuji WPX701 Housing or the Ikelite housing. I couldn’t find much information on the Fuji housing, except that it’s in short supply in the United States. From users comments in various forums, the Ikelite housing seems more popular. All functions of the camera are accessible in this corrosion free clear polycarbonate molded housing. The flash built into the camera operates fine in the housing, but an optional DS series strobe placed farther from the lens improves the photographs by reducing the illumination of particles in the water. The sensor placement on the camera and addition of diffuser precludes use of the TTL Slave Sensor. The EV Manual Controller is suggested. It provides 10 power settings with the DS-50 or DS-125 digital SubStrobes.”

Full Review: “I have a dilemma for months for choosing the best P&S DC with more advanced controls for myself. This dilemma has finally been solved last week when I got my Fujifilm F810! I went to the shops and tried it against the more eye-catching Canon S70 and Pentax 750Z etc. and compared the sample photos in review sites such as dpreview and Steve’s digicams etc. as well as internet forums where end-users posted their photos. The decision was really quite easy shortly afterwards. Although the F810 only got a “recommended” rating at dpreview, I found it has the following advantages over one or more of many other “more famous” cameras in its class. Of course, I think the F810 should belong
to the top 6M class advanced amateur P&S DC”
