Using a single rechargeable EN-EL8 battery, the COOLPIX S3 can take up to 190 shots. It starts up in less than a second and can perform continuous shooting at 1.6 frames per second.

Point and shoot even underwater. The COOLPIX S3 has 17 Scene Modes – four with Scene Assist – including an Underwater Scene Mode, which means users can take photographs while snorkeling or scuba diving. All it needs is the handy optional Waterproof Case WP-CP5.
