Olympus Evolt E330 Digital SLR and PT-EO2 Housing
|
Digideep.com describe the Underwater Case which has just been released by Olympus, for the Olympus Evolt E330 Digital SLR They say:
“Olympus Imaging Corporation’s latest offering, The PT-E02 underwater case looks straight out of a James Bond Movie. Very similar to it’s predecessor. This underwater housing is compatible with the Olympus E330 DSLR and is the world’s first system to shoot via the LCD, even when deep into the blue. The depth rating is 0m. It also allows photography with an extenarlly housed flash. Via the lens ports a variety of lenses can be used as well.”
|
“The PT-E02 is targeted towards the semi-professional underwater shooters and is compatible with PPO-E01, PPO-E02, PPO-E03 and PPO-04 underwater lens ports. Photographers can forsake the cumbersome traditional methods associated with underwater photography. The E330 DSLR has a renowned Underwater Macro Mode and Underwater Wide Mode which when used with ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses expected to produce vivid and detailed images. Thus when attached with PT-E02 it enhances the over all experience, taking underwater technology to the next level.
Another great feature of the PT-EO2 case is that TTL flash photography is possible when used with an external flash unit. Users can forfeit light adjustments and other tedious settings which are normally associated with flash photography. No word on pricing or availability but it is on display at the Photo Imaging Expo 2006 at Tokyo Big Sight from March 23rd to 26th March. olympus.com.”

Wetpixel informs of the new Olympus Evolt E-330 digital slr – the First digital SLR with live preview LCD
Olympus Evolt E-330 Digitial SLR
|
“Olympus has announced a new, 7.5-megapixel digital SLR compatible with the full range of E-System accessories. The Olympus Evolt E-330 is the first digital SLR to support continuous live preview on its rear LCD screen. Many point and shoot photographers are already used to composing by using a live LCD, and having a live LCD on the back can help underwater photographers when composing in difficult positions.
In May, the Olympus PT-E02 underwater housing for the E-330 will be available. UK Germany has also announced that they will be building a housing.”

SeaLife have announced a Universal Underwater Flash for Scuba Diving Digital Cameras:

Buy the Reefmaster SL-960D
|
SeaLife External Flash for Digital Cameras
“Finally a universal flash for all digital cameras*. Scuba divers know that a strobe is the most important accessory for sharp, colorful pictures. Water absorbs the red and yellow light spectrum resulting in blue pictures. The powerful SeaLifeĀ® Digital Flash causes the intense colors of coral and fish to “explode” . Even two flashes can be easily mounted to all cameras.
* Works with Canon, Olympus, Sony, Nikon, Fuji, Minolta, Casio, Pentax and other brands of digital cameras with up to 4 pre-flashes.”

Olympus SP700 Digital Camera
|
src="http://scubadiving-blog.com/images/Olympus-PT031-House.jpg"/>
|
In October this year (2005), Olympus announced the
Olympus SP700
a 6.0 megapixel addition to its new SP series of cameras. They’ve squeezed all the controls on the back of the camera to one side, so there’s a huge 3 inch LCD, the biggest yet on an Olympus camera. There’s a special guide function for beginners, which explains the different menu options and scene modes. It will available in time for Christmas this year.
There is also an Underwater Housing, so Scuba Divers can see this large screen underwater.
DPReview.com gives complete specifications of the
Olympus SP-700
